WHEN THE BEACH FINALLY QUIETED.
The Part Of The Family Vacation They Will Remember Later.
The beach had already started to empty by the time they reached the shoreline at Hilton Vallarta Riviera. The light softer now. The water almost flat. Children moving in and out of the edge of the waves without paying much attention to the camera at all.
Most of the session unfolded that way.
One child stopping briefly to lean against her mother before running back toward the sand again. Parents exchanging quick glances while trying to keep up with both kids at once. Small interruptions constantly reshaping the photographs in ways that could never really be planned.
Nothing stayed still for very long, which was probably what made the session feel honest.
What I enjoy most about photographing families during their time in Puerto Vallarta is watching how quickly children settle into the rhythm of being near the ocean. Shoes disappear almost immediately. Hair stays messy from the humidity. Everyone stops paying attention to whether things look perfect or not.
That shift usually changes the photographs too.
Instead of feeling overly posed, the session begins to reflect the pace of the trip itself — slower, lighter, and built around the small interactions families often remember long after the vacation ends.
