ANOTHER SUMMER RETURNING TO VILLA DEL PALMAR FLAMINGOS TOGETHER.
A Place They Returned To Differently.
There’s something meaningful about photographing a family for a second year in a row. Not only because the children are taller or more confident, but because everyone arrives carrying another year of memories between them. When we met again at Villa del Palmar Flamingos, the difference was immediate. The girls no longer watched the camera with curiosity from a distance. They ran toward me between photographs, reached for my hand while walking through the sand, and moved through the evening with the kind of ease that only comes from familiarity. For their grandparents, that change felt impossible to ignore.
One summer earlier, these same beaches in Nuevo Vallarta held a completely different version of the family. And now, standing beside the Pacific once again, there was another reminder of how quickly childhood reshapes itself in small, almost invisible ways.
The sunset arrived slowly that evening.
The tide moved in softly along the shore while everyone drifted naturally between conversations, laughter, and long walks near the water. No rigid posing. No sense of interruption. Just the experience of being together near the ocean while another vacation quietly became part of their family history.
This part of the coastline near Bucerías and Punta Mita creates a beautiful setting for beach family photography because the environment never feels overwhelming. The sand stays bright long after the sun begins lowering, the air remains warm, and families settle into the experience without feeling observed every second.
Some photographs came from playful moments with the girls running through the shoreline. Others happened almost accidentally — grandparents watching their grandchildren near the water, parents exchanging glances while everyone walked ahead, small gestures appearing and disappearing within seconds.
Those are usually the images that remain important later. Not because they were planned carefully, but because they preserved something impossible to repeat in exactly the same way again.
